DALLAS July 5, 2018 — Armor a leading provider of threat prevention and response services for cloud environments, and TokenEx, the tokenization vendor of choice for securing all data types, are celebrating four years of successfully protecting organizations’ sensitive data from cyber threats.

Founded in 2008, TokenEx developed a groundbreaking solution to protect payment card information. It involves replacing a company’s card data with undecipherable tokens and then vaulting this data until it is needed by the customer. Once the payment card information is requested, the tokens are seamlessly swapped in exchange for the data. Because the sensitive information is removed, TokenEx’s customers don’t have to worry about any payment card data loss.

Building upon this ingenious idea, TokenEx expanded its solution so it could integrate with any complex environment and secure any data type, including personal, healthcare and payment card information. As a result, TokenEx has grown into a leading global provider of cloud tokenization, encryption, data vaulting and key management solutions.

TokenEx began collaborating with Armor in 2014, just as their business was going through a big growth spurt, and they were quickly outgrowing their IT infrastructure. According to TokenEX CTO Justin Stanley, he and his leadership team had three options: continue to maintain their own infrastructure and build a new IT facility; adopt a public cloud solution; or search for a private cloud provider.

“We needed to spec out a brand-new environment because we were quickly growing our customer base and expanding our geographic footprint into Europe,” said Stanley. “Plus, we wanted to enhance and streamline some of our security tools. What we had in place was effective, but we felt we could drive even more efficiency in this area.”

After weighing each option and taking each vendor through an extensive vetting process, TokenEx selected Armor Anywhere with secure hosting, Armor’s private cloud hosting service. “We needed a cloud solution provider who had a robust environment and could scale with our growing business, ensuring that our customers’ data would be available when needed,” continued Stanley. “Equally as important, we needed a vendor who could help us protect our clients’ data, day in and day out, from the countless cyber threats. Armor not only met our criteria, they surpassed it, and because their cloud solutions exceed PCI, HIPAA, and HITRUST compliance standards and are GDPR ready, this helps TokenEx meet its regulation requirements.”

“TokenEx is an outstanding company, and they have developed one of the most innovative data security solutions in the industry,” said Wayne Reynolds, Armor Chief Security Officer. “Thousands of organizations around the globe entrust TokenEx to protect their sensitive data, and they successfully meet this commitment every day. Armor is honored to have been chosen by TokenEx to assist them in this very important work, and we look forward to collaborating with them for many years to come.”

“We realized after one, on-site visit with Armor, that they would be much more than a service provider – they would be a true collaborator,” continued Stanley. “And this could not be truer. Over the years, our relationship has continued to flourish, so much so that when Armor is architecting new solutions, they seek our input. This says a lot about a company when they sit down and really consider their customers’ needs.”

About TokenEx
The first pure-play cloud tokenization provider on the market, TokenEx was founded by two data security experts looking for the most effective way to combat data theft in their customers’ environments. Initially, these former auditors created the solution to help reduce scope and costs associated with Payment Card Information (PCI) compliance, but with an eye to the future, they built the solution to be flexible enough to secure any data set, as well as integrate within even the most complex environments. Today, while securing PCI data is still a common application of the TokenEx platform, over half the data we store currently is classified as non-payment card data (PII, Personal Data, HIPAA, etc.). By integrating four key technologies–tokenization, encryption, data vaulting, and key management–with a highly secure cloud-computing platform, TokenEx has grown rapidly, becoming the tokenization vendor of choice for securing all data types.
