451 Research conducted a custom survey targeting 250 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to gain insight on advancements these organizations have made toward improving their cybersecurity posture. Some highlights include:
- Over 80% of respondents reported they are planning to increase their security budgets by an average of 14% for the coming year.
- Although 61% of SMEs said they have experienced a significant security incident, cyberattack or data breach in the recent past, most respondents said they feel optimistic about their ability to investigate and respond to incidents moving forward.
- Overall, the survey revealed SMEs have made several improvements in their security operations and are investing more in protecting their customers’ data.
